has agreed to the following special nightly room

All
room rates are based upon single or double occupancy
and are quoted exclusive of applicable state and
local taxes, currently 10%. There is also a $9.50
per room/per night resort service fee. Our group
rates will be offered for 2 nights prior and 2
nights after the meeting nights of October 8th
to October 11th, subject to availability.

TRAVEL
Salishan
is located on the coast, about 3 miles south of
Lincoln City. This is about a 3-hour drive (see
map and directions) from
Portland
International Airport (PDX). Ground transportation
options to Salishan from PDX include one chartered
bus, shuttle service, or rental car. SeaPort
Airlines flies
directly to to Newport, OR (25 miles south of Salishan).
Ground transportation must be arranged
from Newport to Salishan.

AIRPORT
BUS
The Symposium will organize one bus that will leave the Portland airport at 2:00pm
Thursday afternoon. The bus will leave Salishan to
return to the Portland airport on Monday, departing Salishan at 9 a.m. and arriving
at
the airport around noon. The cost of a bus ticket is $40 one-way or $75 round-trip.
You may reserve and pay for your bus ticket(s) online.

BEFORE AND AFTER THE MEETING
It may be more convenient for you to spend the nights of Oct. 6 and/or Oct. 11
in Portland. Many Portland hotels offer special OHSU rates. Please be sure
to mention your affiliation with OHSU when making inquiries.

WEATHER
The weather at the Oregon coast during October is pleasant but cool and often
rainy. We recommend you bring a light jacket for days and something warm
for evenings.
If you plan to go hiking, be sure to bring suitable shoes and
rain gear.

ALTERNATE
HOTELS
If our room block at Salishan sells out as expected, the resort will
take names for a waiting list. We recommend getting on the Salishan waiting
list and also making a back-up reservation at an alternate hotel in Lincoln
City, where ther are many lodging options. See below for
options closest to Salishan. Please note that while they
may seem close enough to walk, there is no sidewalk on the busy highway.
If you won't have a car, taxi service is available.
